Welcome to Sewing with Boys! We are so glad that you are here. The four of us met while contributing together on another blog, and we quickly discovered that we all had boys about the same age. After several chats about coordinating for blog tours and such, we decided to do more. We decided to create a place to celebrate sewing for boys, and to share the experience of teaching our boys how to sew. It is our hope to bring to you all the wonderful things we have discovered Sewing With Boys!
Hi I’m Addie. I am a designer, busy mom, college professor, pattern maker, and dreamer. I blog at Addiek.com and design PDF sewing patterns. I have been sewing for over 20 years and teaching sewing for over 10 years. I never imagined myself designing and creating for children, much less for boys, but I love it. I love to create for my daughter Rylee and my son Finn. I also love to teach them both to sew. I can not wait to share with you all the things we do. You can find me on Facebook, Instagram, and twitter . I also blog at Addiek.com.
Hi! I’m Amy and I blog with my bestie over at FriendsStitchedTogether! We started blogging as a way to stay connected with other adults while staying home with our kids. I love sewing for my boys, John and Tim , and they are my main inspiration when I create – although sometimes I manage to sneak in something girly for my niece. I also co-run a monthly sewing competition called CraftingCon, based on all the things people love to obsess about, from board games to Star Wars. I’m so excited to be part of a venture that’s dedicated to sewing for and with boys!
Hi there, I’m Nichole! Although I’ve been sewing since high school, I really began creating things for our daughter in between games of Memory and making lunches as a stay at home mom. I was hooked. When our son joined the family, it opened up a fuller world of possibilities, and I’ve been sewing steadily since! I have a degree in photojournalism, and my favorite job has been documenting our family–and the projects I’ve completed–as they grow. Our children have watched Daddy sit down at a sewing machine to sew patches onto his uniform, and are watching Mommy design and stitch every day. Now they are eagerly embracing their own creative ideas. I love to hear them say, “Can I make that, too?”, and I love even more being able to say YES. It is my goal to foster their creative independence through leading by example and education…and of course, lots of kisses and hugs! To learn more about me come over to my blog blue bird and the boy.
